Archival Issues: The Journal of the Midwest Archives Conference
Overview / Awards / Submission Info / Abstracts and Indexes / Numbering and Dating Information Archival
Issues is published twice annually and circulates throughout the United States and internationally. Submissions to the journal come from across The Editorial Board of the Midwest Archives Conference strives to publish articles that will interest and educate a wide variety of readers. Acceptable topics run the full range of archival activity and include articles that relate the concerns of other research and information fields to those of the archival profession. Although Archival Issues receives contributions from both well established and first-time authors, the Editorial Board particularly encourages archivists who have never published an article to submit manuscripts for consideration. Although all submissions are refereed to determine merit, the Board has traditionally shown sensitivity to the needs of new authors. To underscore this aim, the Midwest Archives Conference has established a "New Authors Award" which carries a $250 prize for outstanding articles by those who have not previously contributed to a refereed journal or book. This commitment is important because it both opens professional opportunities to newer archivists and makes available to the journal's readers fresh perspectives on various issues. Awards
